Hullo all:
Bavaria beckons, so I'll be taking a break for the holidays to happily indulge in currywurst, Christmas markets, and peppermint-tinged mornings with MidnightExigent.
My regular features -- Eye on Talent, The Next Big Thing, Decoding Daily Deviations, The Collectibles -- will be on hold until the new year. I'll still be keeping an eye on DD suggestions, however, so please continue to send any gems that you find. I also hope you'll make an effort to participate in the "IF I Could DD" project, which is a splendid opportunity to showcase and promote the fabulous works across the many artistic categories at DA.
The Digital Art community continues to be an inspiring source of imaginative excellence, and it's been my privilege to play a role in its support and development. I'm now 10 months into my duties as a Community Volunteer, and this elevated platform has afforded special insight into the considerable dedication of so many artists, and has truly felt like the gift that keeps on giving.
In the coming year, you can look forward to a Digital Art week at projecteducate along with official art challenges and contests which I hope will motivate and spur even more engagement in the community. Critiques, comments, tutorials, features, group submissions -- all are constructive ways of helping artists to grow and know that their work is appreciated. Remember that part of what makes DA great is the "social" aspect of what happens here, and it should encourage us to interact and communicate more.
